Pretty Tavern is a web-based chat interface for AI roleplay and conversation. The service provides:
Pretty Tavern is an independent project and is not affiliated with any AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, etc.).
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Pretty Tavern. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Accounts found to belong to users under 18 may be terminated.
When registering for an account, you agree to:
You retain ownership of content you create, including characters, personas, chat messages, and uploaded images. By using Pretty Tavern, you grant us a license to store and display your content as necessary for service operation.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload and that your content complies with these Terms and applicable laws.
The following content is strictly prohibited. Violations result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any sexual or exploitative content involving minors (persons under 18). This includes real, fictional, AI-generated, or written content. "Aging up" canonically underage characters does not circumvent this rule. Violations are reported to authorities.
Non-Consensual Real Person Content: Sexual, defamatory, or abusive content depicting real individuals without consent, including deepfakes.
Illegal Activity: Content promoting terrorism, violence, trafficking, or other criminal conduct.
Hate Speech: Content promoting hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Pretty Tavern connects to third-party AI providers using your own API keys. You are responsible for:
We do not store your API keys and are not responsible for actions taken by AI providers, including account suspensions or content filtering.
Pretty Tavern is provided "as is" and "as available." As a non-commercial project, we do not guarantee:
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pretty Tavern and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Use of Pretty Tavern is at your own risk.
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice for serious violations.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of German courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
